I started this blog after months, perhaps years, of my husband hounding me to do so. I guess he really loves my cooking that much! Although, I must say, that it’s amazing sometimes what we can produce from what seems like the world’s smallest kitchen, which also is our bar. It’s less than 18 square feet, and it is only open on one side (see crappy photo above).
But, I love to cook and won’t wait til I have the kitchen of my dreams to cook what I want, for as many people as I can. So far, the record has been Christmas dinner for seven. I can’t even remember how I plated up with exactly three feet of counter space.
So follow if you dare, fearless reader. We hope to tantalize and inspire! Or at least just make you hungry and jealous.
Definitely a triumph that you’ve produced some amazing dishes in your Tiny Kitchen, so determined and I bet your dinner guests appreciate every time!!! ๐
Thank you! I hope so ๐
Fun site, and impressive creations from your cozy kitchen ๐ Now you have me craving berry pancakes too…
Thank you, Deb! It’s great to finally find my own voice after writing blogs for other people as my business for so long. I’m finding it very rewarding, and your comment really adds to that. I’m going to check out your blog now. Cheers!
Where there’s a will there’s a way!! Best of luck.
That’s for sure! I wonder what I’ll do if I ever get a bigger kitchen. I won’t know what to do with myself! ๐
I have awarded you The Versatile Blogger Award. http://wp.me/p24UBb-Dz Congratulations.
I love the pic of your kitchen….I can totally relate!! I’m in graduate school, and living on a graduate student stipend means living in a more “cozy” apartment (aka really small with little to no counter space). You’re an inspiration to the Cozy house cooks everywhere! And by the way, your food always looks scrumptious and professional!
Thank you so much! I just found your blog yesterday and can’t wait to look at it in more detail. Love your vibe and the look of your blog! And yes, I feel it’s my duty to show what those of us with “cozy” kitchens can crank out. In your FACE, Dita, with your huge, fancy-schmancy kitchen.
Hey TKS, I nominated your sassy blog for a Liebster Award (although, you may have over 20 followers…. I have no idea!). Anyway, cheers! Check it out here: http://burlesquebaker.wordpress.com/2012/04/02/thank-you-justa-and-mouse-happy-dance-for-the-liebster-award/
I already commented on your post, but thank you thank you! I’m so flattered, and it encourages me to take the time to keep writing it! Damn work, gets in the way… ๐
Ugh, TKS, work definitely gets in the way! Each post takes awhile to compose, right? I’ve actually been really bad lately about playing on my blog too much…. I have to limit myself now! And, no, thank you for being a fun fellow blogger!
In total agreement! I try to convince myself that since I blog for a living, it’s technically “work”…it *is*, right?? ๐
Hello! You have a lovely blog, i’ll be following ๐ Keep it up!
Thank you for the compliment and support! I love your blog name–I will check yours out soon!
TKS, I’ve nominated you….again! This time for the Sunshine Award! Check it out here: http://burlesquebaker.wordpress.com/2012/04/13/feeling-giddy-ive-been-nominated-for-the-sunshine-award/
YOU are AWESOME! Thank you so much! Made my day :))
I have been offline for a while and afraid I missed the photos of the kitchen improvements… any new ones?
Not yet. Just a few tiny finishes (and I thought a friend was going to give us a fridge, and didn’t) and then I’ll reveal the final glorious TK! Thanks for asking. ๐
Cannot wait!
Thanks! That’s so sweet of you! ๐
Hey, your kitchen has a sink, oven and stove. You have everything you need! ๐
Thanks! It really is all we need, but it continually surprises me what I can accomplish in such a small space! ๐
i’m teelling you that you’ve got the talent on cooking…
keep sharing and inspiring my friend….
Thanks so much, Dedy! You are also very talented–your recipes look delicious! Thanks for stopping by, and keep up the inspiring cooking yourself!
Hi! I grew up in Laguna Beach and recently relocated to NYC. I had a craving for O-Roy-O salsa last night, and, much to my dismay, realized I would not be able to find it in the big cityโฆso, a quick internet search for its recipe turned up your (and your husbandโs) blogs. I searched high and low, but was unable to locate it anywhere on your pagesโฆ
Any change you would do a special request and post the recipe so I can satisfy my O-Roy-O thirst?
Thank you!
Hi Chandler,
I’ll email you directly. Thanks for commenting!
Jenn TKS
Hi there – just stumbled across your blog and I have to say I love your tiny kitchen! It reminds me so much of mine. ๐ I look forward to seeing what you whip up in here.
Thank you so much! I’m so glad you found my blog. I’ll go check yours out–I love getting inspired by others. Welcome!
Hey there! I’m so glad I discovered you through the Virtual Vegan Potluck! You may have a small kitchen girlfriend, but it doesn’t seem to be keeping you from cooking up a storm! You’ve got some great recipes here as well as some other interesting posts. It’s a pleasure to e-meet you! Celeste ๐
Hey Celeste! Thank you for such a kind note! I love a challenge, and the kitchen size can definitely provide it! I haven’t had time to get through the VVP yet, but I can’t wait to see your entry! Nice to meet you!!
Hi there!
i have nominated you for the โSunshineโ award. Here are the details:
http://eatliveburp.net/2014/01/08/awards/
Thank you so much!! I am flattered and honored!! ๐
Great blog! Glad to have stumbled upon you today. Really liked your winter salad with horseradish dressing. Sounds delicious!
Thanks so much! That salad is from a fellow blogger, Lucy’s Friendly Foods, but I hope you found a couple other recipes on my site you liked. Cheers! http://lucysfriendlyfoods.wordpress.com/2014/01/04/winter-salad-with-horseradish-dreessing/
You can get O-Roy-O by the gallon in Laguna from the original creator, Craig Herbert. As you know he doesn’t sell it in the stores anymore.
It’s true! But sad it’s not in the stores.
