Growing Time!

Productive day outside! Very proud of my fledgling garden here at the new house. As you can see, Kayla has been “helping” me garden, mainly by chasing lizards in the bushes.
So far, I’ve planted: carrots, beets, Swiss chard, strawberries and parsley.
Now time for a refreshing cocktail with the oranges from our tree!

Nice job!! Regrettably I am still a few weeks behind before I can start to plant things outside, but at least the daffodils are coming up! Won’t be long now!

LOVE daffodils! We’ve had some paperwhites in the new garden, but no daffs. Can’t wait to see what you’re planting–keep me updated!

Well done! I finally got my gardening ‘mojo’ back this weekend and planted some seeds – sweetcorn, dill and sweetpea! Way too early for planting outside here yet, so all in polytunnel.

I need to do sweetpea too, along a fence to cover it up. And I’m very lucky with our central California coast weather. A little rain today, but I’m sure back to sunshine in no time. Keep me posted on your garden!

Green with envy! You’ve got a great start there – wonderful selection of plants!

I’ve got seeds to plant this weekend, but there was only so much I could do on a late Sunday afternoon. It felt SO good to dig in and get started! πŸ™‚

How lucky we are to live in California where you can garden almost all year round. I spend hours in my garden. Nice job you’ve done.

Thank you! We are so lucky, for sure. And I’m still trying to find hours to spend in there–fingers crossed for this weekend!

Gardening and oranges from your tree…how nice. I hope you have a good year gardening at your new home.

Thank you! I’m at war with earwigs. Any advice on how to kill the little f***ers will be gratefully received.

The garden looks wonderful! Can’t wait to see the carrots and broccoli πŸ™‚

    • tinykitchenstories March 29, 2013 at 4:15 pm #

No broccoli yet, and I’m having some serious issues with earwigs–they’re eating a lot of stuff! But fingers crossed. Thank you!

Does it make you hungry, baby?
