The artwork in this is brilliant! Plus, it combines Hitchcock and cooking. Tasty!
A very interesting project taking recipes out of Alfred Hitchcock filmography.

This is a long overdue post, but I would like to thank, from the bottom of my heart and tiny kitchen, Lucy’s Friendly Foods for nominating me for the Kreativ Blogger Award! This woman is an absolute angel, coming up with all sorts of allergy-free foods for her children, even down to packing them a lunch so that they can attend their friends’ parties without starving to death or having an allergy attack. It’s been hard to admit, but long runs are no longer in my future. A week ago Sunday, I did an 11 mile run to prepare for the OC Half Marathon. I’d been having problems with my hamstring, but was back on track, so I thought. The first five miles went fairly well, but then by mile six, I was hurting. It was bad—not just my hamstring, but my knee too. Those last five miles were agony. By the next morning, I had made a decision that was hard but necessary—I wasn’t going to put myself through 13.1 miles on May 6th. Continue reading
I have a lot to catch up on with my blog—I know I owe everyone the Tiny Kitchen Remodel unveiling, and I have a few awards and a “tag” to respond to (thank you so much!), but between work, the remodel and my teaching, I’ve had little free time. Oh, and this weekend I’ve been breaking in the new kitchen!
Wednesday I made this dhal. I’d been dreaming of yellow split peas for weeks, and I don’t know if it was the storm that hit SoCal last week or all the other lentil recipes my blogger friends had posted that got me in the mood, but I was so happy to make these! Continue reading
Want to join me? I’ll be participating!
Click the photo below to learn more, and how to get on board! I think it’s a great idea, put forth by An Unrefined Vegan, certainly one of my top five blogs to follow at the moment.
Watch out for my entry and links to the others next month!
Just a quick sneak-peek at the newly remodeled Tiny Kitchen. Still tiny, but loads more room and hiding places.
Almost done? Because now I’ve got to get everything in it, and there’s one piece that’s still missing, due to some interesting measurements. I can’t wait…but feel so much pressure to get everything in just the right cabinet.
Thanks to all of my fellow bloggers and followers for sharing this experience with me! Continue reading
Since the Tiny Kitchen is in a state of Big Disarray, and not ready for a full blog, I decided I’d post some pics of back when I was Elevenses Bakery. I was reminded of it by Deb Brunson, who is in culinary school and last week (or this? I can’t remember, and I haven’t had time to keep up with my fellow bloggers) was focusing on cakes and frostings.
When I got my tonsils out a few years ago, they gave me Percocet for the pain, which was lucky for me as they forgot to mention they’d be taking out my adenoids as well. I woke up feeling like I’d gone a few rounds with Mike Tyson (although my ears were fine and unbitten), and although the pain took the focus off my throat, I needed that Percocet.
And in my lovely Percocet haze, I came up with Elevenses Bakery. (Click on the link for more info on Elevenses!) The concept, the branding, everything. Continue reading
